A WOMAN’S body was found in the River Ebbw in Beaufort, Ebbw Vale, this morning.
Police were called at 10.12am to a report of a woman’s body found in the water close to Allotment Road.
Police are currently treating the death as unexplained.
Officers are appealing for information to help identify the woman.
She is described as white, around 60 to 80 years of age, of a medium build with grey collar length hair.
She was wearing a grey checked knee length skirt, a light pink coloured woollen jumper, a cream cardigan, a brown or possibly green three-quarter length coat with a hood, size six brown leather slip-on shoes and a gold wedding ring.
Enquires are ongoing and a post mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.
