NEWPORT owner Tony Brown has angrily disassociated himself and the club from the WRU District A (Gwent clubs) demand to remove Union president Sir Tasker Watkins as chairman of the extraordinary meeting a week Sunday.
District A have written to the WRU saying Sir Tasker should declare his interest and step down.
Sir Tasker holds the Victoria Cross, Britain's highest military honour for bravery, and was a High Court judge.
"If this is where our rugby has been brought to I find it absolutely appalling," fumed Brown.
"It is one of the most disgraceful things I've known and we separate ourselves totally from it."
