TRADERS in Abergavenny are lending their support to a charity fashion show which takes place next month.
The Welsh Warrior “Operation New York, New York” event is expected to be one of the biggest to be held in the town.
The event aims to raise funds for the Richard Hunt/Welsh Warrior Foundation, set up in memory of Pte Richard Hunt who was the 200th soldier to lose his life while serving in Afghanistan in 2009.
The charity helps Welsh service personnel or those attached to the Welsh Regiments and their families.
The American-themed show will feature clothing and jewellery supplied by local traders and modelled by professional models.
Organiser, Vivienne Sharman-Lewis said: “With the Welsh Warrior/ Richard Hunt Foundation chosen as a most worthy and emotive recipient of profits raised from ticket sales, auctions and raffle prizes, all participants feel that they are helping a very difficult cause in their own small way.”
The show will take place at The Angel Hotel, Cross Street at 4.30pm and 7.30pm on Sunday July 11. Tickets £11 from Vivienne Sharman-Lewis on 07881 756748.
