GWENT Police Deputy Chief Constable is set to take up a six-month secondment.
DCC Carmel Napier was invited to take up a role with the All Wales Collaboration Team starting on September 1. The role involves taking the next steps to help the four Welsh forces work together.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said DCC Napier was selected for the job following the success of similar projects she has led within Gwent Police over the past two years, which have helped deliver budget savings and increased the number of officers on the streets.
DCC Napier will be taking over from existing post holder, DCC Andy Edwards, who is retiring.
During the secondment, Assistant Chief Constable Jeff Farrar will take up the role of temporary deputy chief constable and Chief Superintendent Simon Prince will be temporarily promoted to replace ACC Farrar.
