DESIGNS for a new supermarket in Abergavenny will go on display at a public exhibition next month.
The designs are to be revealed weeks after Monmouthshire county council exchanged contracts with supermarket giant Morrisons to build a store on the Cattle Market site in the town centre.
The exhibition will give local residents the opoortunity to see and comment on the plans for the store which will have a 25,000 squre feet or sales area and bring 280 full or part-time jobs to the town. Representatives of the store will be on hand to discuss the proposals.
The exhibitions take place on Wednesday 8 September between 9.30am and 8pm at St Mary’s Priory Centre in Monk Street and then on Thursday 9 September between 9am and 4pm in the Market Hall.
The plans are expected to go before Monmouthshire council’s planning committee later this year.
