As a circus act this performance entertained and wowed its primarily young audience, but unfortunately, as a piece of theatre it was a letdown. A supposedly funny opening storyline about a village caught in a rut, was embarrassing to watch and lost the attention of many. This was a regrettable turn of events after the wonderful interaction between the audience and performers to start.

The neglected village was luckily given life when the circus invaded the theatre! Lights, colours, performers, musicians and all their wonderful costumes and luggage became a feast for the eyes and, for the most part, the storyline was forgotten. The villagers, who were initially scared and sceptical, joined in with the fun by performing acts or joining the band. A brilliant atmosphere was soon created by the busyness of the stage and the live music kept the pace of the piece continually moving.

The acts were varied in difficulty and skill but all kept the audience engaged. The silk and rope work were particularly incredible to watch as the performers reached amazing heights with elegancy and were spun at dizzying speeds! The Diablo performance was also mind blowing and beyond any skill level I have ever witnessed. Throughout the circus acts, from the acrobalance to the slack rope, the crowd were very responsive showing that the initial feelings of boredom from the start of the show were definitely in the past. A great family show that will leave the audience dancing out of the theatre under the arms of the performers.
