IT BOASTS 18 rooms, three of them en-suite bedrooms, one further bathroom, two reception rooms and outstanding views across the Bristol Channel.

The two-floor property also consists of a hallway with a spiral staircase, a hot tub, a flotation tank - and a fully working lamp.

Newport's 19th-century Grade II-listed West Usk Lighthouse is up for sale - and could be yours for £1 million.

The owner will even throw in a Rolls-Royce and a life-size Dalek for good measure with the lighthouse, in St Brides Wentloog.

Frank Sheahan, 54, and wife Danielle have run a B&B at the lighthouse for 16 years.

The couple, who have two sons Jed, 16, and Brodie, 12, fancy a move to sunnier climes and are planning a move to Turkey.

Mr Sheahan said: "It's been a very successful business and we are very pleased with it. But we feel it's probably time for a change."

The lighthouse has attracted visitors from across the world as far away as Australia and New Zealand, and although he says business was hit hard by the foot-and-mouth outbreak and the Iraq war, is still a popular accommodation.

An American visitor once hired out all the rooms so he could propose to his fiance in private, popping the question in the lamp room.

Mr Sheahan said the 57ft high property, which has a 3,600 sq ft floorspace, was unique. "To have all this space in a round building is very unusual.

"The locals call it the Tardis because it looks small on the outside but there's lots of room inside. And because we have a Dalek of course."

The Dalek, signed by the third Doctor Who actor, Jon Pertwee, and valued at £1,600 by Christies, was given to Mr Sheahan by a guest who used to work for the BBC.

The metal monster will be included with the sale of the property, along with a blue 1987 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit worth £12,000.
