4. Further to my previous waffle about the written language, my lack of it and other peoples as well, I read an article in the Daily Mail which said that a marine bug (their word not mine) which lives at nearly minus 20 degrees C has greatly increased the chances of finding life on other planets.

How?

Are a load of little beetles, probably wearing heavy-knit sweaters, building tiny spaceships with which to travel to the stars.

They have, I assume, already cracked the problem of travelling faster than light and, presumably, won't need to use too much energy on the heating.

And the name of this super intelligent bug?

Colwellia 34 H so it's well ard and up to the job then.

Pedantic? Me?

On another topic, would people behind me in the queue at the supermarket please refrain from airing their views loudly.

I was recently subjected to an elderly gentleman who first thought it amusing to shout at the staff about the fact that the queue was long and some tills were unopened.

He did this apparently under the impression that the staff found it equally amusing, his reading of body language left something to be desired.

He then, together with two other men, began ranting about Poles and Indians coming over here taking jobs and claiming unemployment.

At no time did his voice drop to a conversational level so we were all subjected to these thoughts.

Now I quite understand that there are people in this world whose views are less than savoury but please, as I said, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF'.

Thank you.
