PEOPLE of all ages took to the dance floor to raised cash for an alopecia charity.

The 12-hour non-stop danceathon was held at Burnt Barn Road Sports and Social Club in Bulwark, Chepstow, and raised around £350 for the Alopecia Areata Support Charity.

Dancers, aged from one- and-a-half to 63, bopped along to everything from Queen to pop band Girls Aloud.

They began at 10am and finished 12 hours later, stopping only for lunch and dinner. Founder of the charity Maude Bligh, whose nine-year-old daughter Chloe has alopecia universalis, a condition which means she has no body hair, was pleased with how it went. "It was great, the atmosphere was really good," said Mrs Bligh.

The money will go towards an alopecia meeting in Chepstow in September, which is expected to attract people from across Britain.
