The magic of Disney came to the Wales Millennium Centre on Tuesday when Mickey Mouse and friends entertained family audiences with a fun packed show.

Not only did Mickey’s Music Festival feature the world’s most famous mouse, it also included the legendary Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and characters from the Disney movies Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Toy Story.

As the colourful music spectacular kicked off, it became apparent that both adults and children were in for a great time ahead with every intention to “Rock the Mouse”.

Each scene was interlinked with games and sketches which also encouraged participation from the audience. There were also brief presentations of Aladdin and The Little Mermaid featuring the characters and songs from the respective movies. Key characters from both films Sebastian the Crab and The Genie also popped up from time to time to link other scenes including an underwater sequence that involved brightly coloured fishes magically swimming across the stage.

Following the entrance of the Soldiers from Toy Story was the energetic arrival of Woody, Jessie and Bullseye the Horse. The best was yet to come however; with Buzz Lightyear arriving amidst a meteor storm, leaving many children totally awestruck as their animated hero was brought to life before their very eyes.

Mickey’s Music Festival was indeed a magical show and gave all the children in the theatre memories they will continue to treasure for many years to come.
