NEW moves to boost visitors to Caldicot Castle and country park have been discussed by councillors.
The Caldicot Castle and Country Park Advisory Group met to receive a report delivered by Monmouthshire council’s countryside manager, Matthew Lewis.
Monmouthshire County Council has set up a new group to assist in the development of plans for Caldicot Castle and Country Park, and to advise them.
The advisory group brings together county councillors, Caldicot Town Council and Portskewett Community Council, local community groups, including the castle’s friends group, the local history society, Caldicot U3A group and the chamber of commerce, with tourism and heritage experts.
The group met for the first time on July 8 to receive an update on current issues and the future potential for the castle and country park.
