THIS was the scene from which a woman escaped with minor injuries after the car she was driving overturned in Caerleon.
Gwent Police were called to the incident at the bottom of Belmont Hill on Friday at around 5pm.
Chief Inspector Steve Thomas said the woman who was driving the blue Hyundai I10 was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital with minor grazes.
Jim Sullivan, of Belmont Hill, said the driver had just passed the junction with New Road and Bulmore Road and was heading uphill when she hit an embankment and overturned.
He said the accident blocked both lanes of the road for around an hour and caused tailbacks in the area.
He added that the accident was one of many on the road.
He said: βIt would help a lot if drivers could just take that little bit of extra care at this notorious traffic accident blackspot.β
