AMONMOUTH politician has added his support to a residents’ campaign to save their garages.
The Argus reported last week that residents who have rented garages on Southbrook View in Portskewett are against plans to demolish them and replace them with housing.
Monmouthshire Housing Association has applied to Monmouthshire council for planning permission to build four two-storey two-bedroom houses. Monmouth MP David Davies and Monmouthshire council’s leader councillor Peter Fox to oppose the plans.
Mr Davies said: “It would be regrettable if these garages were demolished and I support residents in calling for them to be kept. I shall be making my objections known to the relevant planning officer.”
