THE funeral of a Newport historian will travel via the city’s Transporter Bridge tomorrow.
Sidney Robinson, a chronicler and founder member of the Friends of Newport Transporter Bridge group, died on January 12 aged 97.
Mr Robinson, who served as chairman of the group for three years, played an active role in promoting the iconic site.
His funeral will cross over the bridge at 10.15am before a burial at Christchurch cemetery at 11am.
