A 35-YEAR-OLD man was left with serious injuries after being stabbed in Newport yesterday.

The man, who is thought to live locally, was attacked on Dunn Square by a group of three or four men at around 1.20pm.

Police said he suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries including stab wounds to the arms and legs.

He was taken by paramedics to the Royal Gwent Hospital for treatment.

The area behind the former Kwik Save store was sealed off yesterday by police as forensic officers examined evidence, including a pair of shoes, in the road.
