A CHEPSTOW man was sentenced to seven days imprisonment after he filmed a court case on his mobile phone.
Darren George, 31, of Wesley Way, Chepstow, was jailed for contempt of court after an usher spotted him using his mobile phone in the public gallery during a sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court. It was discovered he had made a video recording on the phone of the court.
George was brought to the dock and sentenced by Judge Neil Bidder QC.
Notices in the court building warn people that the taking of photographs is strictly forbidden and visitors are frequently reminded to switch off their phones when entering the court.
