WEAPPLAUD the decision to suspend Bradley Davies after that awful challenge on Ireland’s Donnacha Ryan last week.
During an independent Six Nations disciplinary committee hearing, the television footage was used to look at the incident.
He clearly lifted the player and dropped him in a way that could easily have broken his neck.
He was sin binned but did not receive a red card. His suspension is only right. Yet again in rugby we have seen decisions made after games and TV evidence used.
There is none of the soccer nonsense in which the referee’s decision is final and cannot be overturned, even if it is clearly wrong.
It’s about time the round ball game went down the same road as rugby, which has proved itself more effective in the way it handles such matters.
