THE circumstances surrounding the death of an Ebbw Vale man found under a road bridge remain a mystery, an inquest was told yesterday.
David Alan Gilmore, 63, died of multiple injuries, consistent with falling from a height, a post mortem examination found.
He was found on School Road, underneath the A4046 road bridge in Rassau at 5.36am on September 26.
He died at Abergavenny’s Nevill Hall Hospital two days later.
Recording an open verdict, Coroner David Bowen said he could not be sure if Mr Gilmore, who was in constant pain from his deteriorating health, intended to take his own life or fell from the grassy bridge embankment.
