AN Ebbw Vale man was found guilty of stealing £16,500 from a fund set up to help his son fight a degenerative disease.
It took a jury at Cardiff Crown Court just half an hour this morning to find Julian Emms, 46, of Southbank, Beaufort, guilty of fraud by abuse of position.
Emms stole the money from the Michael Emms Fund- set up in 2007 to fund treatment for Emms' 20-year-old son Michael, who had motor neurone disease.
While Michael died on April 11 2011, aged 23, £16,500 was taken out of the fund by Emms in August 2010.
Emms was released on bail and will be sentenced on March 16.
