Part of a road closed to allow repair work on fire-damaged buildings has re-opened.
One side of Pill's Commercial Road re-opened on Monday allowing traffic to travel through the shopping centre.
It was closed for safety reasons after the fire on July 27.
Blackwood Magistrates Court last month ordered the owners of the buildings to repair or demolish them within 14 days after Newport council said they were in a "dangerous" condition.
Work started two weeks ago and the local authority say they are satisfied with progress made.
