A MONMOUTHSHIRE school rolled out the red carpet for a world premiere of its own animation film.
Veg take over the Kitchen is the result of a three-day animation course with professional animators Turnip Starfish of Cardiff.
Cross Ash Primary year five pupil, Reuben Wallace, entered his idea for the Welsh Book Council’s World Book Day animation competition and was named the best entry at primary school level.
His winning story was brought to life when animators visited the school to help pupils create models and backgrounds and make the short film.
Earlier this week, ten-year-old Reuben and his classmates were treated to a special screening of the film, organised by the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales.
It follows characters including Doctor Broccoli and Captain Cauliflower as they escape from the fridge and take over the kitchen.
Head teacher, Marilyn Balkwill said: “The pupils enjoyed the experience.
They dressed up for the premier, held in their classroom, and were thrilled to see the film on the big screen.”
