A GROUP of workers from a Chepstow wind turbine manufacturer are celebrating a windfall of their own after scooping more than £100,000 on the lottery.
The 32 workmates, aged between 25 and their mid- 50s, who work on the same shift at Mabey Bridge Limited matched five numbers and one Lucky Star in the Euromillions draw to win £102,897.70. Syndicate leader and welder, Colston Brynant said he couldn’t believe it. “We only started the syndicate eight months ago,” explained Mr Bryant, 42, of Elan Way, Caldicot. He said: “I don’t usually check the tickets until the end of the month but after another group member called to say he though our numbers had come up, I double-checked and realised we had won.”
“I waited until the win had been officially confirmed before telling the other members over Facebook that night – we were all back in work the next day. I rang everyone to say we had each won £3,215.55 each,” added the dad-of-three. The syndicate, who call themselves ‘The A Team’, use the same five numbers and two lucky stars every week, which were chosen when they started the syndicate, and bought their ticket at Waitrose in Caldicot.
Mr Bryant said he will put his winnings towards decorating his house and a holiday, and members will make a donation to Race For Life in memory of a colleague who recently lost his battle with cancer.
