ENTRIES are pouring in for the 47th annual Monmouth Raft Race with organisers hopeful that 2012 will be a bumper year for the competition.
The Rotary Club of Monmouth, which organises the annual River Wye event, says entries are steadily rolling in, with competitors signing up from as far as Cardiff and Bristol.
If the trend continues it could be especially good news for the year’s nominated charity, the St David’s Hospice Care.
Prizes are available for the fastest raft, the best design and best dressed and other special awards on what is a great, fun day out for all the family.
Details on how to enter and also how to build a raft are all on the Monmouth Raft Race website, monmouthraftrace.com The fun-filled, six-and-a-half mile Monmouth Raft Race, which starts at Monmouth Rowing Club and ends at Tump Farm at Whitebrook, is being staged this year on Sunday, September 2, from noon.
