ABRACADABRA! As if by magic, Disney Live! returned to the Wales Millennium Centre on Wednesday afternoon, delivering more than 90 minutes of music, mayhem and fun in Mickey’s Magic Show.

The world’s most famous mouse Mickey and his friends Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck stepped on to the stage as the audience gasped with delight, bringing smiles to children and adults of all ages.

The characters themselves are like they’ve just stepped off the cinema screen and don’t disappoint.

The show itself is not only a celebration of the magical world of Disney recreating moments from films such as Aladdin, Alice In Wonderland, Snow White and Cinderella but also an eye-popping display of optical illusions.

Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Minnie are aided by real magician Brad and trainee magician Benny who impress the audience with an assorted wonderment of magic tricks between sketches, including sawing girl dancers in half, levitation and the fastest escape in the world.

The tricks even mesmerised a hardened cynic like me, as I couldn’t quite believe what I was witnessing.

It is often said that the hardest critics to impress are children but my three (aged between five and nine) were blown away with the presentation.

Asking them all what was their favourite bit was they replied: “All of it!”

Children of all ages (and that includes adults) really should try to catch this wonderful show.
