A NEWPORT pub is offering patrons the chance to create their own ale.
For every pint of real ale sold at the Windsor Castle on Upper Dock Street, each customer will receive a raffle ticket.
The raffle winner gets the chance to work with the pub and the Otley Brewing Company of Wales to create a real ale named after themselves. Landlord and landlady Steve Harding and Lisa Thomas took over the Windsor Castle three months ago, and are turning the lower bar area into a real ale bar where the winner’s brew will be sold.
Mr Harding said: “It’s been hard work to make this real ale competition and to keep things quiet until the launch so nobody took our idea and used it. But we are confident this is the first of its kind in the UK if not the world.”
The competition runs from Saturday until Wednesday, October 24.
Winners also receive five free prints of their ale, a beer pump trophy and clip of their ale, and a commemorative bottle.
