Eco Vigour, an environmental management company based in Newport, has been named Company of the Year at the recent Monmouthshire Business Awards.

The awards, hosting its eighth ceremony this year, celebrates businesses and organisations from the old Monmouthshire region - Monmouthshire, Newport, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen and Caerphilly.

The ceremony was held at the Celtic Manor Resort and hosted by broadcaster Hywel James.

The award categories covered a broad range of businesses and industries, including Excellence in Innovation, Marketing, and Manufacturing, New Business Start Up and Best Small business, with the coveted Company of the Year award going to Eco Vigour, the environmental management company based in Newport.

Chief executive officer of Monmouthshire County Council, Paul Matthews, said: “The best of the best gathered for the Monmouthshire Business Awards. Monmouthshire is the most vibrant economy in Wales, so to make the shortlist is unbelievable.”

Other winners were: Xorbit (Young Entrepreneur of the Year); Cinemerse (New Business Start Up); Ross Johnson (Apprentice of the Year); The Lion (Hospitality Business of the Year); Magnatise Lashes (Marketing); Creo Medical (Innovation); Bearmarsh (International trade); Capital Valley Plastics (Manufacturing); Miracle Workers Agency (Small Business of the Year).
