A Torfaen-based insurance broker is the new sponsor of the Hunstanton Lawn Tennis Tournament .

Three Castles Cover, which is based at Mamhilad Park Estate, has signed a three-year deal to support the 99-year-old tournament taking it through its centenary in 2020.

In recognition of this support the event will be renamed ‘The Three Castles Cover Hunstanton Lawn Tennis Tournament’.

Established in 1920, the tournament takes place on 38 tennis courts on the Norfolk town's recreation ground, over seven days from August 18 to 24. More than 1,000 entrants have signed up so far to compete in this year’s event.

The tennis tournament is open to players of all ages and ability from six-year-olds to sixty-year-olds.

It is second only to Wimbledon in size, attracting thousands of competitors every August.

Three Castles Cover chief executive and keen tennis player David Harlow said: “The Hunstanton LTT is a well-established and highly-respected tournament.

"I was told about the sponsorship opportunity by Richard Coleman, MD of our biggest insurance provider Archipelago and jumped at the chance to support the prestigious event.

“It’s an excellent opportunity for our company to support tennis in the UK and we look forward to being associated with this wonderful tournament."

David, who will be teaming up with Richard as a doubles pairing at the tournament, said as a special incentive to players, Three Castles Cover has agreed to donate £100 for every new insurance policy sold during the week. The money raised will be go towards the purchase of a new sharp-bladed lawn mower.
