The Business magazine, edited by South Wales Argus business editor Jo Barnes, has been named as a finalist in the Wales Media Awards.

The product is up against three other Welsh magazines in the Magazine of the Year category at the awards, which will be presented at a ceremony in Cardiff on March 20.

The Business focusses purely on the south east Wales business community and gives a local voice to national issues affecting the sector.

Jo Barnes, who has been business editor of the paper for 14 years, said: "I am delighted that the magazine has been shortlisted for this award. It is great to see it being recognised like this. It is the backbone of our business coverage and has led to regular business networking events in the city and the launch of the South Wales Argus Business Awards, which are now in their third year.

Hussain Bayoomi, managing director of the South Wales Argus, said: "Congratulations to Jo Barnes, business editor of the South Wales Argus, on The Business being shortlisted at the Wales Media Awards. Her passion and commitment to the business community is an absolute credit to her. We are all delighted to see The Business nominated."
