Newport-based cyber company Wolfberry Cyber has been recognised as Best International Cyber Security Consultancy Firm at the Acquisition International Cyber Security Awards 2020.
The accolade rewards Wolfberry’s strong 2019 growth which has seen it enter markets in Europe, Asia and the US in a year when more than half of UK businesses have reported some form of cyber-attack.
Wolfberry CEO Damon Rands said: “The regular cadence of global high-profile data breaches is putting pressure on companies to protect both their business and customers, especially as more and more sensitive transactions continue to move online. But it isn’t just about ‘Hollywood’ hacks - normal businesses also get caught as well, and sometimes the effect is much more damaging.”
Wolfberry’s mission is to make enterprise level cyber security services accessible, understandable and affordable for all businesses, no matter the size or location. The company supports some of the largest organisations across many sectors around the world - including, healthcare, fintech, financial, manufacturing, sports, law and accountancy.
Wales has a thriving cyber ecosystem, the largest in the UK, with companies such as Airbus, Thales, BT, Aston Martin, General Dynamics and SANS Institute choosing to locate either their European headquarters or significant cyber operations in and around south Wales.
With more than 1,000 members, the North and South Wales Cyber Security Clusters have been formed, under the umbrella of the UK Government supported UK Cyber Security Forum, along with a number of other clusters, including Women in Cyber.
Damon said: “We are proud to be one of the leading members of the Welsh cyber eco-system, we’re blessed with fantastic universities, some of the leading global organisations such as Thales and Airbus, and the support we receive from Welsh Government elevates us to a global stage. It is a melting pot of talent in its truest sense.”
Wolfberry Cyber picked up the Digital Technology Business of the Year Award at the 2019 South Wales Argus Business Awards.
