Azets, one of the UK's largest regional accountancy and business advisors to SMEs, has promoted Chris Dale to regional director for research and development and innovation-based tax services.

His promotion strengthens the offering of the firm, which is a sponsor of the South Wales Argus Business Awards, to help many clients maximise their tax reliefs and credits.

Formally director of tax, Chris is based in South Wales and has been with the firm for two years.

Chris’ appointment sits hand-in-hand with Azets’ strategy to strengthen its geographical footprint in its key areas of service.

His experience includes assisting clients in claims for R&D, Patent Box and Creative Sector tax reliefs, providing structuring advice for corporate deals, and delivering advice on investment related reliefs as well as tax efficient incentive schemes.

Richard Goddard, partner, head of tax, South West at Azets, said: “As the wider business market looks towards growth following the current pandemic, Azets look forward to supporting clients, old and new, with their specific financial needs. Chris’s promotion reflects his dedication and commitment to the service line, as well as his excellent client service and team building proficiencies.

"As the UK’s largest regional accountancy and business advisor to SMEs, Azets focuses on delivering a highly personalised service, though our local office network and proprietary digital workplace technology – Chris’s promotion further strengthens our promise to the South Wales and South West region, and we look forward to expanding our client offering across the region in the Research and Development based service line.”

Within Azets, Chris will continue to work alongside the South West & Wales’ tax teams to support clients with evaluating their business tax needs and maximising relevant tax reliefs.
