ARTWORK by people with Alzheimer’s disease has gone on display at Chepstow Community Hospital.
The 'musicpainting' group meet up every Monday from 2pm to 4pm at the Salkeld Day Room at the hospital in Tempest Way, Chepstow, taking part in painting with music played during the class.
The class of 15, who have all been diagnosed with early onset dementia, listen to music and interpret what they hear into art.
Artist and volunteer Shaun Ray said: "They all love it, the class is a lifeline and I have heard many stories that it makes life easier for them at home.
"The results have been astonishing. It is lovely to see the pleasure they have gained from their work.
"I think they were quite amazed at how good it is."
The group’s paintings have been on display in the four central glass corridors of the hospital since Monday.
All work is for sale. The exhibition will run until Monday, August 21 during hospital hours.
