THE South Wales Argus is dedicated to matters appertaining to South Wales and appears to have little interest in more northerly regions. Occasionally one of its journalists might write an article featuring North Wales, but rarely does one ever see a mention in letters. The exception being Cllr Nigel Dix of Blackwood who seems to enjoy grumbling about Plaid Cymru.
My friends in Anglesey will have been delighted by Plaid’s victory, but I saw nothing about Plaid’s achievement in letters, I did think someone might at least mention it in passing especially since Labour are saying quite categorically that they won’t change the way things will be funded if they get into power.
I hope ballot papers will be drawn up in a manner that means voting for Plaid will have some effect no matter where one registers one’s vote. There’s very little fairness in politics local or national, but as the saying goes, “it’s better to travel in hope than arrive in despair”. R Ashton of Woodland Place shares my view on what he’d like to see happen in letters, but it’s never going to be like that.
As for yours truly, being human I drop a clanger now and again, just show me where I’ve ever denied that!
