THE FALLOUT of Parliament’s decision not to vote for military intervention in Syria was predictable. Accusations of point scoring, betrayal of the relationship with our allies, the abandonment of the Syrian people were just a few reactions of some of our MPs and others. These views are no doubt shared by some members of the British population, however, in my view, that vote has re-established my faith in parliamentary democracy. The people have spoken; more importantly; they have been listened to.
