I THOUGHT the world had gone mad when the Nobel Peace prize was awarded to Shimon Peres, one time leader of Israel, a country guilty of so many human rights abuses and violations of international law. But now, Save the Children have trumped that by nominating Tony Blair for a prestigious award.

Blair is not only drenched in the blood of thousands of innocent children in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine. The legacy of his wars continues today. A litany of those he has killed, maimed and orphaned would stretch from here to Baghdad and back.

He can afford to give generous donations to children’s charities, but if he were to give all his wealth to Save the Children, he could never wipe out the misery his actions have caused.

Thousands have signed the petition calling on the charity to rescind the award. For the sake of the young lives he has ruined, take back his accolade.
