WELL DONE to the powers that be for deterring Christmas shoppers from our town centre (city being a myth!) in the run up to Christmas by digging up most of the major junctions, causing gridlock. All to burn up any remaining budget well before the year end. Some of this is caused by the new Friars Walk development which, when eventually opened, will be shunned when people realise that most items will cost more than £1.
