AS A member of the Police and Crime Panel for Gwent, I wanted to express my support for the decision of Ian Johnston, the Police and Crime Commissioner to keep stations in Caerphilly, Ystrad Mynach and Risca open.
The decision by the former Chief Constable to end public access to these stations nearly three years ago was mistaken.
They were reopened by Mr Johnston last year and I’m pleased they are remaining open.
The public undoubtedly feel more secure in their communities with stations open and staffed and police officers on hand locally if they need any assistance.
Councillor Colin Mann, Leader, Plaid Cymru group, Caerphilly County Borough Council
