ALARMING figures reveal nearly one in three Welsh families are surviving on less than the living wage. The study by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation found 29.4 per cent of families in Wales are struggling to make ends meet. The number of Welsh households with children surviving on less than the living wage has risen sharply in the past five years. Nearly a third of households in Wales are being forced to survive without enough money to afford even a basic standard of living, an alarming new report has warned.
Since 2008/09, the risk of having an inadequate income has risen most in Wales, rocketing from 19.3 per cent of households in 2008/09 to 29.4 per cent in 2012/13. Still the people of Wales persist in voting Labour when their policies are London, South East of England heavy.
