ONCE again we have the persistently open and honest Andrew Nutt, on behalf of the Welsh Nationalists (July 9th), attacking Welsh Labour on the question of trust. He claims that the Nationalists will make the Welsh Assembly more transparent and accountable to the people of Wales. Good for him, I say! I feel sure he will welcome the opportunity I give him to start here and now. Mr Nutt, with the survey carried out some time ago amongst teenagers from the Welsh speaking valleys north of Swansea in mind that showed the use of Welsh in their social lives is continuing to decline, will you accept that the enforced Welsh Act has failed? And will you, finally, have the common courtesy to tell the people of Wales what your enforced Welsh Language Act has cost us up to now? Failing that simple request, perhaps a lengthy period of silence from you might be considered more appropriate.
