I READ with interest the article concerning the new cemetery rules. The comment that Cllr John Cunningham consulted extensively seems laughable as he seems to have totally ignored the views of the grave action group. It does appear that he has flown in the face of the public and sided with a small minded minority and no doubt some obscure health and safety issues. Like a number of local politicians he seems to have forgotten who put him there and that he is supposed to represent the people. I hope the local electorate remember this at the next election and its no wonder less and less are bothering to vote. Anyway having opened my post today, it appears that the two small plastic flower vases that currently reside on late wife’s grave are also deemed unacceptable under Cllr Cunningham’s new regime. I have been given seven days to remove them and can only presume that the appearance of the cemetery and convenience of others is of greater importance than the late and sadly missed people who reside there.
