NOT wishing to get involved in a game of letter page ping-pong, these are my last comments on the subject.
As on previous occasions, a line was omitted from my reply “to push IS back into Syria, to make them easier to deal with”.
My reference to Assad, although a mass murderer, still stands compared to an IS alternative world wide.
He won’t stand down, so the situation will remain as it is, as long as IS and al Qaeda (now rearmed with American weapons given to Syrian rebels to fight Assad) remain in these areas.
Of course, the sight of young families trying to give their children a safe future is appalling, and heart rending, but my views on many of the immigrants still stands. Unacceptable (by whom?), or not, Mr Strong and I must beg to differ on our interpretation of cowardice.
