REPLYING to S Mason’s letter in the Argus on Monday, October 5, asking for information about four ladies that died in the First World War from Newport. There are in fact seven ladies that died in the First World War, six listed by the CWGC and one other listed only by the First World War Newport’s Roll of Honour book held at the reference library.
These ladies are all listed along with any photographs I have on my web site of Newport’s War Dead at new portsdead.shaunmcguire.co.uk.
