VERY often Andrew Nutt has a very appropriate name when it comes to the content of his letters. His latest review of the results of the recent Assembly elections is absolute nonsense. As always, he has the usual blinkered Plaid Cymru view of results, berating all other parties as if Plaid are the only party to be successful. What is being overlooked by Andrew Nutt and in particular Plaid, is that only 45 per cent of the electorate actually voted and, of that, 4.4 per cent of the regional vote supported the Abolish the Welsh Assembly Party. Whichever way you look at it, this is a clear indication that over 55 per cent of the electorate in Wales do not want the Assembly and have no interest in it at all. He tries to belittle all but Plaid, and cannot even get the name right of Abolish the Welsh Assembly Party. The facts have been clear for all to see, in this election and all elections, including the original votes in 1997. Devolution and the Assembly are not wanted by the majority of the people in Wales. Unfortunately we will all have to continue to read Mr Nutt’s diatribes until true democracy is restored to Wales. It will happen Mr Nutt, quicker than you think, so remember those old sayings: “He who casts the first stone” and “People in glass houses”.
