SEEING the earlier letters with regard to Wales being represented on the Union Jack, it reminded me of a gentleman by the name of Don Morgan, a retired army officer, I think originally from Blaenavon.
He was a passionate Welshman who told me how he had been a member of the audience at a Welsh Question Time held some years ago at Christ College school in Brecon.
I forget who was on the panel but it was chaired by Vincent Kane from the BBC.
When Don asked the panel why Wales wasn’t recognised on the Union Jack, Vincent jokingly asked if he had in mind a little Dragon tucked away in the corner.
Don replied: “No, a bloody great big one right in the middle of it!”
It was followed by a standing ovation.
