HAVING just watched Ms Wood of Plaid Cymru telling her audience how Mrs Thatcher decimated the coal industry I felt it necessary to correct her. In fact both those 2 Labour stalwarts Harold Wilson and James Callaghan closed more mines than Mrs Thatcher.
Ms Wood obviously prefers trying to inflame anti-Tory feeling to telling the truth by repeating an often spoken untrue but popular misconception or perhaps her back room staff didn’t bother to check their facts.
