HAVING been a resident of Blaina for many years a community with a strong commitment to each and the town I’m appalled that the local council have banned bonfires and pulling them down across our small town.

Sadly there is not much to do in Blaina due to a lack of investment over the years and a complete inadequacy with our local council.

Many children and families look forward to these seasonal occasions where the community has a chance to come together.

That said if the council had any common sense they would have provided a show and bonfire and also made a few quid to put back into the community.

It’s sad that the humbug of Christmas has come early in the shape of Blaina Council. Shame on you!
