I AM A over 60s person using the facilities at Pontllanfraith Leisure Centre and like many use the facilities to maintain our fitness and longer term health.
It’s a well used and location is critical due to its central location and easy bus route schedules for many that does not have their own transport.
Pensioner’s and users that do not have their own transport will find it very difficult to travel to the Oakdale facilities. The bus stop is not near.
I appreciate housing targets are key and the generation of extra funds via land / council tax etc are beneficial to the balance sheets but there must be another way other than rip the heart out of local facilities which when gone are gone forever.
I hope they reconsider.
