May we take this opportunity to inform your readers that Blackwood Town Council will be bringing the carnival back to Blackwood High Street on Saturday 23rd and 24th June as part of the Beach Party weekend.

Crowds are in for a real treat at 3pm on the Saturday, as the Carnival Parade will feature a NEW twist to the traditional carnival float by introducing for the first time a variety of novel trolley floats decorated by individuals, groups, schools and local retailers in this years theme of ˜Year of the Sea".

The parade itself will start at the Market Place; proceed down Gordon Road and along the main High Street to Argos where the Blackwood Town Council main stage will be waiting to crown the queen or king of the town for 2018. Therefore, if you are between 8 and 16 years old and would like to lead the Carnival procession and represent Blackwood and live or attend school within a 3 mile radius of Blackwood please contact either Blackwood Town Councillor - Zoe Hammond, email hammond.zoe@sky.com or Blackwood Town Clerk - John Hold email: john.hold1@gmail.com.
