Newport was once a thriving market town. It claimed city status, then the rot set in. Parts of the city resemble;e a third world country, people sleeping in doorways and on the pavements. Beggars on street corners , shop doorways smelling of urine. The smell and overflowing bins outside takeaways and the bus services slashed to the bone.
