I agree with R Sims in the Argus 03/09/2018 about the parking in Newport. I would go further and call it lawless, never mind a joke. I would also add parking in zig-za lines and even disabled drivers do it. It is a penalty of six points and a £200 fine for this offence. Perhaps the council could have somebody patrolling Queen Street by the Wetherspoons public house, they would have writers cramp by the end of the day and that's only one day. I have spoken to PSO's a few times and they send it up to the council as the Police have washed their hands of the city centre. The Police use the usual excuse 'lack of resource'. The suggestion of a private company doing the job is a good one, it will be interesting to see what excuse the council come up with.
