Aldi has revealed some of the towns and cities it plans on opening new stores in over the next two years as part of its recently announced £1.6 billion expansion.
In its annual trading update earlier this week, the UK’s fourth-largest supermarket said it planned to open 80 new stores across the UK in 2026 and 2027 to meet the UK’s growing demand for affordable groceries.
In addition to these new stores, the £1.6bn investment will also be used to upgrade existing supermarkets and further develop Aldi’s distribution network.
Aldi currently has 1,060 stores, but previously revealed plans to scale that up to 1,500 across the UK.

“We’re more determined than ever to meet that demand, and that’s why we’re investing a record £1.6bn over the next two years, to bring Aldi prices closer to millions more customers.”
